Kaylen playing this morning

Kaylen absolutely loves her new toy. There is one side that plays music and she will push the buttons and dance, dance dance! She loves music. Also the seat rotates around the center and she will run circles around that thing! Oh, and she loves to turn pages! if she sees a real book she is after it! so if you want to keep a book intact you better keep it out of reach! you can see her flipping her pages on this. She loves it!

Kaylen asleep with Daddy

Here are some pictures of last Sunday morning. Kaylen woke up at 7 like always and came in and slept with us until 9. Well, she slept with Allen and I had to get ready for church! It is no fair that it takes me so much longer to get ready than them!

Well, now that Kaylen is pulling up on everything she sees she is falling more too! she busted that cute bottom lip of hers and cried and cried. here are some pictures of the lip and her standing on her own! Enjoy! Oh, they are pictures from this morning... doesnt get any more recent than that!

Hiking Get Away

Allen and I went to Birmingham last weekend. We had an awesome dinner at the Copper Grill. The next morning we we to Oak Mountain for a little hiking trip! It was nice to get away for a night. We found this cute chameleon. When we saw him he was green but he ran through some dead leaves and turned brown before we could catch him and take the picture.

life expectancy

http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/calcs/n_expect/main.asp

so i got this from adam and ashley's blog... i agree with adam... that thing is a bunch of hooey! it said that i would live to be 94 and that allen would live to be 65! his family is so much healthier than mine! oh well. it is pretty fun to do even though it is waaay off! and if it is right... i got a long time to be alone... lets hope it isnt. 29 years by myself... i havent even lived that many years yet. yikes!

Crazy Kaylen

Alright... so i cant get this baby to smile for anything! Everytime she sees the red light that shines before the picture takes to reduce red eye she looks really confused and that is the picture i get! So here are my attempts at smiles from Kaylen:

A Night of Bowling

I this dance aerobics or bowling? We like to mix it up and keep it interesting. You never know what dance moves or music lyrics are going to come from ole Ashley!
Ashley at bowl... striking it up! She was the all time girl winner by far! I guess all those middle school days on the bowling league really helped her out!
Russ posing after a bowl. Is that the correct stance?
Now... they were playing 80's music and I believe Ashley is dancing to Madonna's Material Girl.
Pucker those lips!

So the stats on the games were that Allen almost won the first game but i think it was Russ that happened to bowl 3 strikes in a row at the end to just edge allen out of first. The second game was all Allen. that was the boys...
the girls?
well, as i have already said Ashley stomped us but it wasnt hard since i bowled an all time low of oh... 53 and then a wopping 49 the second game! and who's parents used to own a bowling alley? yikes! i stink at that game!

all in all, it was a really fun thursday night.

My New Life

I know I am in need of an update. My life has drastically changed in the last few weeks. I am now a working mom! I started teaching at a new school closer to home. I love it! I didnt know how great teaching could be. I hope I can stay here for the next 30 years and retire. Well, maybe not 30... just until retirement. I have small classes and great kids. It is wonderful to enjoy what you do all day.

Updates with Kaylen... she started crawling a few days before school started. So now we are running around keeping up with her. she is pulling up on things as well and continues to find the one thing in the room that will harm her and goes straight for it! It is seriously like she is seeking out the things that will hurt her! Baby-proofing a house is hard work. You think everything is safe and she finds the one thing that isnt. Oh, last night she started saying ba ba ba ba. Not that it means anything but it is a step closer to words. Once she discovers something she does it over and over and over again! I promise to put pictures up soon. I am operating under a new realm of busy! I have a new found respect for all the other working mom's out there.
