Okay, so I am really trying to keep doing artwork over my summers so I recently took pictures of a friend of mine's 6 week old baby. I thought I would post some of them and get your reactions. I am trying out some new actions in photoshop and playing around with images. Anyway, of course the baby is adorable... cant help but get that part right! So I would love to know what you think about the technical stuff.... posing, editing, all of that... so without further adou:

Bermuda

I will write more about the trip when I get a chance but here are a few pics of our trip. It was sooo fun... except for the airplane ride there and back. We got home from Destin at 9pm on Sunday night and found out at 10 that our flight going out of Huntsville had been canceled so we had to drive to Birmingham and fly from there. Our flight left at 6 so we had to leave the house at 3 am. I didnt get packed until 1am. So talk about being tired the whole way there! Then on the way back we boarded our plane and were told we had to wait for permission to leave... an hour later... we left. I was afraid we would miss our connecting flight but we didnt. We made it to Birmingham but our bags didnt. They came in on the next flight... uggg... dont fly US Airways.

Now for the trip... we were treated like Kings and Queens. It was too amazing for words. Gifts: t-shirts, maui sunglasses, a beach bag with 2 nice towels, a silly little painting, aveda body products, and a video i-pod. We were fed out the wazoo!!! I think i gained 6 pounds. my excersions were a mountain biking tour, scuba diving, a massage, and a jet skiing safari. Allen didnt do the jet skiing and went deep sea fishing. He caught a wahoo. He was the only one to catch anything on his boat. We had sooo much fun!!!! I cant even describe how awesome of a time we had. Here are some pics from it:

Destin 2007

We left for Destin on Friday for the weekend. Allen had to work a conference and we only had a short amount of time to play but we packed it all in. Shopping, Pool time, Beach time, family pics (stay tunned), great meals, a busted lip.... and more! We werent there 30 min. and Kaylen fell and both lips were bleeding! I was so afraid she had broken a tooth! All was well but as you can see from the pics she looked like she had a cleft lip. Oh, the best part of the weekend was that Allen lost his drivers license, corporate credit card, and bank card in the middle of the ocean. It was a bit nerve racking since we were leaving at 5am on Monday for bermuda! All worked out and we had a blast!

college flyer

Okay... i am doing some graphic work for the youth dept at my church... here is my debut piece. Remember I havent used Illustrator in forever! so i drew the little comic guy and then did a little bit with background, type and that is about it. It is a start. Tell me what you think. There are two of them because they will be a half page mailer.

I will be back in a week or so with lots of new pics. we are headed off the destin this weekend and then we will be in bermuda all next week. stay tuned!

Memorial Day

We had a great time over the holiday. We went out on the boat with Hollie, Keith and Jonah. Kaylen and Jonah had such a great time and were both soo good! They also played together on Monday afternoon and we just too cute. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

A Visit with Aunt Nikki

So I mentioned that my sister, Amber, came to visit this past weekend but am just now getting to posting a few pictures of the event. These first 2 pictures are of Kaylen at a Teacher's Retirement Brunch. She looked so cute but i really didnt get any good pics of her. My sister did and i am waiting for her to send me some... kaylen may be 3 years old before that happens... if i know my sister! so these will have to suffice. But believe me when i say she was adorable!

Cinco De Mayo por Kayeln!

So we have had an extremely busy weekend. On Saturday we went to see Spiderman 3, went out to eat, and then went over to a friends house (and my sister was in town). So while we were at the Turnbull's that night Kaylen passed out under the buffet table in Ashley's dinning room. We say she partied a little too hard on Cinco De Mayo!!! Anyway, it was too cute so here is a little snapshot of it... courtesy of Miss Ashley.

In unrelated news... Allen and I joined a church last night. This is the first church we have become members of as adults. We are now methodists. It was really fun to be a part of the festivites/ceremony. They did a great job of getting everyone plugged in! I think i am going to do some artwork stuff for the High School and Jr. High programs. Allen wants to work with the older kids. And i am going to help out with the nursery! Anyway, the name of the church is Cove United Methodist Church... aka Cove Church.

I know, I am not including pictures in this post and that is almost a cardinal sin for this blog! People only come for the pictures. I cant blame you... that is all I look at on blogs. But I am feeling the need to write about my next adventure.

The Wet Dog Triathalon.

It is a fairly small triathalon (i am not sure if that isnt an oxymoron... sort of like pretty ugly.) Anyway, it is a 400 meter swim, 10k bike and a 5k run. So you would think I would already be in fairly good shape for this thing... I mean, I did just run 13 stinking miles! NOT THE CASE!!!! 2 days ago I biked for 20 min. and then ran for 15 (all in the gym). The biking nearly killed me. By min 16 my legs were totally cramping. I biked through it and immediately got on the treadmill. I had a great run! I was already warmed up and so I just flew. Anyway, I went swimming yesterday. YIKES!!! I can barely lift my arms today! I swam 1000 yards. With stopping of course. I sincerely thought I was going to drown. Some of you may already know this but last year I was on a team and did one part of the wet dog: the swimming! The only problem is that I havent swam in about 8 months or longer! Probably since I did the wet dog last year. Anyway, all I can say is it was rough! I have talked 2 friends into doing this with me (one is still on the fence, ahem... Emily!) Hollie is in and I dont think I will have to motivate her to stick with it to terribly much but Emily will take some convincing. After my 2 days of training so far I am going to need some convincing! It will be tough but well worth it. And I am looking forward to our training together. These 2 girls are some of my favorite people!

Anyway, stay tuned... I will let you know how we do and who sticks with it. Training is going to be interesting! Well, I hope the few people who read this have a good weekend!

We are doing whistle stop, spidey 3 with good friends, church membership class (we are becoming methodist!) and with all of that my sister is coming in town! Busy times filled with fun events! BTW... 13.5 days of school left!!!!!! But who's counting?
